Board of Education Code of Conduct
The Kendall Central School Board of Education is committed to providing a safe and orderly school environment. This Code of Conduct is adopted by the Board pursuant to and in compliance with the requirements of project SAVE and 100.2(1) of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education.
The Board recognizes the need to clearly define expectations for acceptable conduct, identify the possible consequences of unacceptable conduct and ensure the prompt and fair discipline be administered when necessary. To this end, the Board adopts this Code of Conduct.
All students, staff and community members are entitled to attend a school that is safe, orderly, secure, and peaceful.
All are entitled to dignity, respect, civility, and the protection of civil rights and are responsible for behavior, which is respectful to yourself, others and property. A discipline policy setting forth prohibited conduct in the classroom and on school property along with range of penalties will be publicized and explained on an annual basis.
Regulations for removal from classrooms, detentions and suspension are consistent with federal, state and local laws. They will be enforced in a manner which ensures continuous educational programming. All decisions affecting students with disabilities comply with all provisions of New York Education Law.
All policies clearly delineate the expectations in which individuals may participate in or be excluded from school-sponsored activities, events and/or instruction.
